Bio
Laura Y. Liu is Assistant Professor of Urban Studies at Eugene Lang College of The New School. Her research interests include community organizing and urban social justice; migration and work; and race, gender, and labor politics. She is writing a book tentatively called Sweatshop City which looks at identity, space, and political strategy in community organizing within Chinatown and other immigrant communities in the New York City area. She has published in Gender, Place and Culture; Social and Cultural Geography; and Urban Geography.
